Question Quick Question about Elem Armor

I am still pretty new to GW, playing Prophicies. I have an E/Me, so my armor is pretty weak. Right now I have Pyromancer Armor - all the others (Hydromancer, etc) are pretty much exactly the same in terms of protection, etc.

Is that the best armor I will ever be able to have? I suppose my only options for better protection are various magical items (i.e. artifacts)?

Can any experience Elem's reccomend any artifacts/weapons/whatever that would help to really buff up my Elem? Faster casting or recharge, better protection, etc.

Thanks

Prophecies imo isn't too great for the armor choices.

If you have Factions or Nightfall you will be able to buy armor with more useful things on than elemental armor, such as + health or armor +10 while enchanted etc..

If you're stuck with prophecies then I guess the best you can do is to buy the armor suitable for what you will be facing at the time. For example, Ascalon is mainly fire eles what with the charr...so Pyromancers, Shiverpeaks there is more water eles so maybe Hydromancer Armor is better...

And yes, you're right, you can indeed use a wand and focus, and on the focus have "armor +5 vs X", although +Health is usually more favoured on foci.

Hope that helped a bit.

Edit: Guildwiki's Elementalist Armor Section could probably explain stuff better than I ever could!

The armor itself doesn't go past 60, that's why we fight in the back and are called squishies. As Celestial said, you can get weapons, offhands, etc to sometimes increase it. There are also ele skills that will, for a time increase armor protection.

The Best items in prophecies for you to get would be to get some of the collectors items from the south shiverpeaks or the Dessert (although if u havnt gotten that far yet u can get not quite as max stat collectors weapons earlier in the game):

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/General..._%28Ascalon%29
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/General...rs_%28Kryta%29
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/General...uuma_Jungle%29
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/General...stal_Desert%29
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/General...Shiverpeaks%29

the Max Armour you will be able to get is AL 60 and comes in the normal version or the prestige version (whihc has the exact same stats but costs you considerably more to craft)
